Right Care, Right Time Project

3 welfare agencies including Sisters of the Good Shepherd, Evangel Children’s Home and Precious Blood Children’s Village jointly organized a project calledRight Care & Right Time Project (2Rs in short)”.  It is aimed at providing comprehensive care and timely & appropriate medical services to children and adolescent residents in the short term. If long-term treatment is required, the medical team will refer case subjects to public services for further follow-up.

Evangel Hospital was appointed as our service provider by 2Rs Tender Board.  A team comprises family doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists, medical specialists, social workers and residential staff members will be called for monthly case review and design of appropriate treatment plans.

The project runs from 2014 September to 2017 August. It is sponsored by Chan Dang Social Services Foundation and Partnership Fund for the Disadvantaged.

Renovation of Residential Home

In the summer of 2014, Evangel Children’s Home underwent a renovation project to increase service capacity to cater for 11 more deprived children and youth.  After the separation of 4 houses – we can provide specialized care to users of different age group.

2014 New Balance 10K Run

Despite we passed the Mid-Autumn Festival, it was a very hot and sunny Sunday when the annual New Balance 10K Run was held.  As last year’s NB 10K Run, Ms Vivian Law, our Superintendent received a cheque donated by New Balance.  In 2014 races, Ms Law was invited to present trophies to some winners and she was also invited to officiate the kick-off ceremony of 1K Family Run.

10 children of ECH enrolled for the 1K Family Run and New Balance recruited 10 volunteers to match with each child in the Family Run.  It was our children’s first attempt to take part in marathon and the 1K Run was a good practice of the kids who joined a summer course “Running Kids”.
